SUMMARY:Intro to Dental Sleep Medicine for Dental Doctors and Team Members with "Apnea Destroyer" Dr. Jerry Hu
DESCRIPTION:Intro to Dental Sleep Medicine for Dental Doctors and Team Members\nAugust 8; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm\,\nAugust 9; 7:00 am - 1:00 pm\nfollowed by the Minnesota Vikings Pre-Season Game \nOverview \nDental sleep medicine is one of the fastest-growing fields in dentistry\, but it has also been a source of frustration for many dentists. After investing in courses and equipment\, many are left without a clear strategy for integrating dental sleep services into their practice\, leading to unmet expectations. \nSleep apnea affects an estimated one billion people worldwide\, though only one in five cases is diagnosed. The dental office is often the first place where a detailed examination of the oropharyngeal airway occurs. In 2017\, the American Dental Association recognized the essential role of dental offices in identifying and managing sleep apnea\, recommending comprehensive evaluations of airway anatomy and function as part of routine dental care. \nThis official American Sleep and Breathing Academy "ASBA" course provides a turnkey introduction for dental practitioners to incorporate sleep dentistry into their practice. \nRegister for the: Intro To Dental Sleep Medicine For Dental Doctors And Team Members Course \n\nASBA Courses and Instructors\nAmerican Sleep and Breathing Academy “ASBA” courses are redefining successful weekend courses in dental sleep medicine. SUMMARY:ASBA Diplomate Written Exam - Dr. Jerry Hu
DESCRIPTION:Diplomacy Verifies Dentists’ Sleep-Related Knowledge and Expertise \nDoctors should seek out certification primarily because the Dental Sleep Medicine “DSM” field needs consistency and outcome-based care. In the not so distant future\, reimbursement will likely be based on results. The American Sleep and Breathing Academy (ASBA) is made up of providers who have been providing oral appliance therapy in the medical model for decades. Many ASBA members are pioneers in the field. \nASBA members can help doctors to better understand current health care issues and tomorrow’s model of healthcare. As we look to the future\, it is likely going to be mandatory that doctors attain a certification within DSM. The ASBA is an inclusive organization. This is especially important when it comes to certification\, because we believe all of our doctors should be certified. \nDSM is a unique arena for dentists to practice. According to most states’ Dental Practice Acts\, dentists are allowed to diagnose and treat dental disease as needed. However\, in the DSM arena\, this is not the case. In the DSM arena\, dentists are allowed to treat life threatening medical conditions after they have been diagnosed by physicians. Physicians are obligated to provide the best care for their patients\, therefore they must be overly fastidious when it comes to referrals. Physicians are required to be certified in their field\, and certification for sleep dentists will eventually be mandatory. \n2025 Diplomate Written Exam \nThe ASBA Diplomate Written Exam is scheduled after the Review course on Friday afternoon August 8th\, in Minneapolis\, MN. If you are a candidate who needs to complete the Written portion to achieve Diplomate Status\, and are also committed to being the best in the field of DSM\, register using the button below. \n\nREGISTER FOR THE WRITTEN EXAM
