After spending a fantastic weekend at the ASBA Sleep & Wellness conference, I wanted to take a moment to thank all the speakers and organizers, such as David Gergen, our new president Dr. Toshi Hart, and executive director Kelly White for all their hard work that made it possible.
An Outstanding Lineup
Every time I have attended an ASBA event I have learned new concepts and picked up clinical pearls that have allowed me to provide my patients with the most effective and integrative care.
The line up of speakers was outstanding as they spoke about topics such as integrative approaches to whole body health, epigenetic appliances, pediatric treatments for craniofacial growth guidance, TMJ considerations in oral appliance treatment, the future of clear aligners, and building effective systems in our offices for providing dental sleep medicine.
Dr. Tim Adams — A Highlight
Once again Dr. Tim Adams blew our minds as he presented the quantum architecture of human biology and the teeth as biocrystalline energy transducers acting as a natural solid state antenna in the mouth.
It was one year ago that I learned about the open loop cricket appliance from Dr. Adams at an ASBA study club and it was great to be able to share updated progress with him on all the patients that this amazing appliance has helped.
It was also great to be able to share patient progress photos with Dave Gergen so he could see the impact that his innovative appliances have on our patients in improving their growth & development.
Celebrating Our Diplomates
Other highlights from the weekend included seeing my friend Dr. Mary Jean Oropesa receive her ASBA diplomate certificate as well as the other new diplomates, congratulations to all of you!
Grateful to Be Part of This Community
I feel humbled and honored to be a part of an organization such as ASBA where conferences are not only an amazing learning experience but also a chance to connect with colleagues that are more like long time friends. I want to thank Dr. Jerry Hu the "Apnea Destroyer" for introducing me to the ASBA study clubs in the first place as he told me "you need to go to this" — for that I will always be grateful.
